What gives the better real world performance? The hard drives would be 80GB Seagate SATAI drives and backed up onto a 250GB hard drive and using onboard Nvidia RAID. I currently have 1.5GB of RAM and don't feel it is limiting have a friend who upgraded to 2.5 from 1GB and didn't notice a difference.

Opinions?

Thanks, Trif.

It depends, I suppose, on what you're doing on the machine. Programs limited by I/O will see a benefit from the RAID array. Programs limited by memory will prefer the RAM. If you're not seeing any problems with 1.5 GiB then I reckon the RAID is the way to go.

I only play the odd game (GTR2/FSX).

Boot times are annoying along with how long it takes to load Photoshop and search for files.

I currently siding on buying a nice M-audio sound card. Terrible aren't I?
