just orderd up me (brian) 3 legged thing anyone got any views on this item ,im hoping this will be a good addition to my camera im hoping to get into a bit of macro work although the lens i favor for my camera is way overpriced panasonic leica 45mm around the 500 pound bracket. also hoping to use for wildlife shots they say you can use the ball head at less tightened position and still move the camera for tracking subjects.anyway the tripod seems to be a good lightweight travel tripod gets 5 stars in the ap magazine .arrives monday.although i thought i was buying british found it is made in china like everything .

brian is a rock legend ie brian may all 3 legged things are named after rock legends eddie = eddie vanhalen ,jimmy = jimmy page ,theres also adrian and kirt

i'm struggling to see the aim of this thread ^^

OP is about as coherent as a rock legend after a 3 day bender.

He's on about a company called 3 legged things who make tripods, the tripods they make are named after rock legends.

He's also saying they're good but made in China, whereas he thought they were made in the UK.

@OP: As this is photography maybe some pictures (and punctuation) would help :p

there is no aim to the thread ,just asking for peoples thoughts on the product ,dont post my photos there not that good lol.

It's just I've never heard of it and without googling, a company who call its products after Rock stars of yester-years can't be that great.

I think you should look at Manfrotto Tripods or something, forget where it is made. At the end of the day, when it works well, a piece of aluminium is a piece of aluminium, does it help that you know it is made in the UK but it keeps falling over?

I rather it stands up and made well, who cares who made it.

Manfrotto tripods are made in Italy AFAIK...

I find that using 3 legged things when taking photo's usually results is better photo's, but these 3 legged things can be a bit of a hassle to set up...

sure manfrotto are good ,dont think they offer anything more than me 3 legged thing ,i also get a monopod with mine ,it is a carbon made tripod with mg alloy parts coated in titanium so its fairly well thought out ,it just lacks a level/bubble for leveling ,maybe ill use me spirit level on my phone for that?.also the price should be lower for a real good buy ,ill see how good it is when it arrives tommorow, and let you know.

I've looked at these before, if\when I need to replace the Redsnapper I'll be giving them a good look. Unless a product is appreciably better elsewhere I'll always try and buy a British product (in all walks of life). True a lot of stuff is still manufactured in China etc. but the money goes into the UK economy at our end.
