Anyone got any feedback on using 3 mobile broadband?
Want a mobile service for general laptop browsing and it seems quite good value on paper and seems to have generally good coverage.

Thanks in advance for all feedback.

I have this. Use the pay and go service. Its very surprising how little you use actually. The lag is annoying, in the region of 200-230ms, and you get about 1.5mbit connection maximum. I know the 3 stores let you play with it. Give it a go.

Whether it's worth going for very much depends on how good the signal is in your area and whether there are capacity issues in your area. It is by far the cheapest service, and some users are very happy, but if you are unlucky with the signal or you start to experience capacity problems then customer support is relatively poor.

The signal has got better since they launched the 3.5G service on the phones, but it still isn't as good as it could be. The only time I could see myself using the dongle in a laptop service would be on my twice a year trip to Northamptonshire, but if I stayed in a travel lodge instead of a tent, Openzone would be available anyway.

Thanks for the feedback.
Decided to go with it as coverage seems solid where I am going to use it. Can always cancel within the 14 days anyway I guess if it is too bad.
Overall speed not too much of an issue as just using for general browsing.

I have been using it for a couple weeks - speed is very area dependent. It's OK for e-mail and web browsing.

It is faster than T-Mobile + my Nokia 6233.

I have been on this for a week now, on the £25/pm contract as I use it for business. So far its been great although I have only used it in London or at home in Kent. I'm off to Scotland tomorrow so that should be a better test. It beats paying £10 per day for hotel wi-fi.

Modem arrived yesterday.
So far really impressed. Has connected at HSDPA speeds everywhere I have tried and I usually struggle to get a standard 3g signal on my vodafone handset!
Performance very good, so far very little lag.

im on the t-mobile £15 per month unlimited, its been verry good as ive been all over the place as a van driver getting speeds between 75kbs to 175. seems even played bf2 with a ping off 90ms.
