Current setup - two monitors connected to PC with an HDMI and DVI. Same monitors connected to HDMI port in laptop, second connected to HDMI port in adapter in an adapter, which plugs into the USB C port in the laptop.

Adding a third monitor to my PC is easy, I've got plenty of ports on the GPU. How do I add a third to my laptop? Do I need to daisy chain? Or get a different adapter?

I don’t think it’s always possible to use 3 external monitors with every laptop. Depends if it’s got a dedicated GPU and what ports it’s got.

You could get a usb-c hub with 3/4 monitor connections but hubs with more than 2 are usually really expensive. I’ve also found that they can make the laptop slow and unresponsive at times.

I couldn’t get my work one to take more than 2 so wound up getting one massive monitor and using power toys and funky zones to separate it like multiple screens
