Hi good people

Im considering getting another 2 22" samsung monitors, to go with the one i already have, i have a GTX280 atm, but will be getting a GTX295 shortly (if that makes any diferrence)

I have looked around but cant find any answers as to how or whether you can hook up 3 TFT's and one GTX280/295.

:o:confused:

I believe it is possible at the moment, but only if you buy additional hardware (something like a matrox triplehead or a cheap 2nd GPU).

Nvidia are supposed to be releasing "Nvidia's Surround Gaming technology" soon. It has been delayed quite a bit, but it is supposed to be very close to release now. As well as working with Fermi cards, it sounds like it will also work on GT200 based cards like the GTX280 and 295.

However, if you want to run 3 monitors immediately (both in windows and in games) then you may want to consider getting an ATI 5800 series card. These cards support eyefinity which allows you to connect 3 monitors to one card and run them together in games as well as desktop duties.

Out of interest, are you getting a good deal on the GTX 295 that would make the ATI option seem too expensive?

You will still need to being using atleast 2 way sli for 3d surround vision last time I heard. I'm not sure if that still applies to using 3 displays in "2d" though.

However a 295 is technically 2 way sli on one card so maybe it will work?

Thanks Guys:

@ cmndr_andi im a Nvidia fanboy, for my sins ive always bought nvidia cards. So Ati not an option. My mate is selling me his BFG GTX295 for £220, after upgrading to a 480.

@ Boozebeard 295, 2 x GPU so in theory it should be!?

edit: Is there any reason why using one of these to split one of the dvi's on the 280/295 would not work http://www.sourcingmap.com/hdmi-male-dual-dvid-female-splitter-converter-cable-p-38906.html (i have a HDMI to DVI convertor block already) the 280/295 are designed to run 2 x monitors from each dvi out after all. Then plug the other monitor into the other dvi out on the gfx, jobs a good un?

Should be able to configure the monitors in the nvidia control panel?
