Hi guys, I'm hoping a friendly member can help me on a quandary?

I would like to have three monitors running on my friends PC using extended desktop as opposed to a cloned display. I believe the PC has hdmi, davi and VGA, but get the feeling all 3 won't work together?

I heard there are graphics cards which can accomplish this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

firstly what is the PC being used for?
this is important in determining the graphics card needed
secondly, what resolutions are the screens?
thirdly, the current connectors you have, are they on the motherboard, if so which one?

most graphics cards from the past 5 years or more can output to 3 or more dsiplays in extended desktop mode, but how well it runs will depend on the type of programs running

The PC is being used to check stocks and shares so it's not going to be for gaming.
I am unsure regarding the rest as I am yet to see the PC :(
I think the monitors are 24inch max.

Would the graphics cards do this via the two usual dvi ports and the hdmi?

depending on the PC specs, it might be possible to do it without a motherboard, if not these are the following options

onboard graphics + graphics card

Graphics card + active adaotor (in the past some graphic cards could not output to more than 2 displays without an active adaptor)

Graphics card by itself

multiple graphics cards in non-crossfire/SLi configuration

I personally do 3x27" off a 7750 (i think) 2 via display port and 1 dual link DVi

Ive done 3x 24 off a 5750 with an active adaptor in the past

Thanks s452.

I had a quick look at the 7750 and it looks like it has 1x display port, 1x hdmi and 1x dvi. I'm unsure what purpose the adapter is serving :(

I can only assume the PC can use 3 different inputs at once?
