I have 1 monitor connected by DVI and a TV for XBMC connected by HDMI. There is one free DVI connector. Can I add a third monitor to this?

How does this work with dragging programs over? Do you literally just drag a program from your main monitor, right over your second monitor, then onto the third monitor?
 
Yes, you can just use the standard windows settings to move the orientation of your extra monitor, unless you want it on the side and have it "above" in Windows, just ensure you set your primary monitor, otherwise you'll get your desktop and programs opening on a random screen :)
