3 monitors using a Geforce PCI card

Hi,

I have a system with a Geforce 8600 GTS PCI-E

I hoped by putting in a PCI card (Geforce FX 5200) I would be able to have another output to a 3rd monitor (just for windows, not gaming).

But on boot I got a BSOD. I went into safemode and installed nvidia drivers which were compatible with the 5200, but now it boots into windows but in device manager the 5200 is not functional.

Is there a way I can get this working please? Or have I blown it and bought the wrong thing?

Id really appreciate any advice or ideas I could try.

Thanks

Damn.

Well, thanks for clearing that up - I use vista.

How did you solve the problem? Any other PCI card which I can get which will definitely work with the same driver set as the 8600?

Thanks

I bought a 8500 which worked fine.

Since then I've gone the ATI route with an X2 and a 2400 which gives me what I need.
