3 monitors, would this work?

Ok im thinking of upgrading my 8800GTX and this is what i have in mind.

Allot of the newer ATI cards have 2 DVIs a HDMI and a display port.
Can you use 2xDVi and HDMI for a eyefinity setup?
Also can you rotate 2 of the monitors?
I have one big monitor thats has a HDMI port (HannsG i think it is) and then if i use my 2 old 19" L90d+'s in portrait they fit nicely next to the large screen and are roughly the same height.

Also would a Q6600 @ around 3ghz be beefy enough to power that rig?

Id heard that but wasnt sure, I also read an artical on engadget say taht ATI were going to start pushing a "cheap" $30 display port adapter so maybe ill have to wait till thats available.

How about the other parts to my question? anybody got any ideas?

You need a DP to VGA adapter.
No all three must be landscape or portrate.
Aq6600 won't be enough, you need to run that CPU at 3.8ghz at least.

Really? Its quite easy to do this NV?

Keep your 8800gtx and buy a new NV card if this is the case, I have 3 monitors on two nv cards, and I'm constantly swapping the side monitors orientation (think i'd pull my hair out if they couldn't be done independently. I really wanted to move to ATi (gets me down to a single card), but the more I hear about eyefinity the less I like it.

I believe the DP adaptor is very cheap now, so shouldn't be a consideration against getting ATi for cheaper/older monitors anymore.

i run my i7 920 @ 3.2ghz (3.4 with Turbo) for everyday use and eyefinity runs fine.

Not every Q6600 will do 3.8ghz

You can have two of the monitors rotated as long as you're not using eyefinity. What resolutions are the monitors?
