hot uk deals said:Saw this yesterday while on the xbox dashboard (on the Spotlight tab). There's an offer which says 50% off Xbox Live making it 7.50 for 3 months.
makes it about as cheap as buying 12 months at £30 from amazon.co.uk using the other deal
Update: MAKE SURE you turn OFF AutoRenewal/cancel after 3 months so that MS can't charge you the regular £15 afterwards
"It's only for Silver members looking to upgrade, I used this around 2 months ago, and you don't see it if you're already on Gold - I'm not sure if you sign up, then cancel after 3 months, whether you'd see it again. Possibly, as a silver member, but possibly not, it might be a once-per-profile offer.
I got an email a couple of days back warning me that they'd renew at the end of the three months (at the usual full rate) so you get plenty of warning, and you can cancel online by going to http://billing.microsoft.comand
logging in using your live details. You can see your subscription, and there's a cancel button. The link is provided in the email you receive on signing up, and the reminder you receive before the end of the 3 months - I don't think you can accuse Microsoft of making it too hard to cancel - autorenewal after a trial/reduced rate period is not exactly unusual!
One thing to be aware of, as far as I can tell from the T&C, you're not stopping a renewal, you're cancelling a service, so do it on the last day of your three months - once you cancel the gold membership is pulled from your account immediately, not at the end of the period you signed up for (ie you can't sign up for this, then immediately notify them you don't want to renew, sorry if that sounds obvious but I thought it worth a mention)"
