Hey all

I am getting delivery today of my i7 system parts. With it I have ordered the Noctua Cooler.

1. In my Antec 1200 case (with 200mm top fan) would it be best to point the fans up therefore using the top fan to exhaust the hot stuff or rearwards for them to do the job?

2. The Noctua comes with Paste but I have some Arctic silver 5 I could use. Which would be better? The AS5 is a bit old now (2 years) cant see a use by date if it has one?

3. I am going to be using 2 x 320Gb Sammys in RAID0 for system and 1Tb Sammy for Data. The question is paging file - How big (with 6Gb DDR3 RAM) and on which drive. In the past I have always but the PF on a seperate HDD t lessen the load on the system drive. Not sure if this is now needed as I am using RAID0, which is going to be blistering (I hope :D)

Thanks for your help

1. I'd probably point them rearwards (assuming the case has space to exhaust heat at the back) since heat rises anyway the top fan will do its job regardless.

2. I'd use the Noctua paste, it is good stuff and a bit fresher as you say although the AS5 should still be fine.

3. Not sure about the size of the page file I'm afraid, Raid0 might not be quite as quick as you hope but that will partly depend on your uses.

1. heat rises so use it as an exhaust fan.
2. try the artic silver, if temps are poor purchase some new stuff or use Noctua
3. just put the the page file on the raid drives
