3 Screens on ATI

So i have a 7970

DVI
HDMI
2x Mini DP

So i currently have
DVI - SA950D
HDMI - TV
Mini DP to 24" monitor

All work in 2's but wont display three at a time,

ive read that you can only have 2 legacy ports working at once (DVI/VGA/hDMI) & one Displayport is this true?

Also the Adapter must be Active.

Now the the adapter works fine with one other screen so does that means its acive?

any help would be nice

I've had 4 screens running off my 7970, and had for a short time eyefinity running with the exact same ports you're using, the only thing i can think of is the adapter isn't active, just pull it out and it should say whether it is active or not.

Who's ATi? Aren't they long gone?

What you've read is correct, you will need an active adapter to get a third display running.

As far as I know, non-active ones will just pass through a "legacy" signal meaning one of your other ports doesn't work as you've experienced.

I've got 4 displays running off my top 7950, and with them being 2560x1440 displays, I needed to get the even more expensive active dual link adapters

i bought 2 of these unfortnately (1 for spare), they was only £5 each but they could be useful for my laptop!
