Hi All

I am trying to decide whether or not to go for two new 780 cards in SLi or stick with my current 3 way 680 SLi setup.
I have looked through numerous threads on lots of forums but I am now more confused than ever :(

I currently game @ 2560 × 1600 on a 30 inch screen.

Any help/advise is much appreciated

Thanks
Piggin

I would stick with the 680's Piggin. It would be roughly the same performance, with the 780's winning some games and the 680's winning others (depending on game scaling).

I dont know of any 30" 1440p monitors... Did you mean 27"?

Both seem like a waste of cash to me. :p

I think that boat has already sailed

How have you found the 680's in terms of performance, heat and noise? If you're happy with them, then stay as you are.

I am still happy with my setup but new toys are always nice:D

This is what I have now

If i had your setup ide just wait now another generation now, unless the next ATI cards are summat real special.

If you are having no issues, I would keep the 680's :)

Thank you Gents for answering the question.
Deep down I already knew the answer, just needed a reality check.

Mrs Piggin will be happy if I cancel my order, as she thinks I am trying to kick start the economy by myself

But two 780 with EK Titan XXL blocks on them would look so pretty

:D

I have been trying to help boost the economy also :D

Awesome build btw.

Looking at the pic i can tell your a man whos not afraid to splash the cash on his rig and theres no doubt a pair of 780's would look very nice in there but it would be wise to wait as with all pc stuff the longer you can wait then the cheaper you will get it

I am still very happy with my GTX 690s @1600p

I would stick with what you have got.

I am very happy with my 680's & I can play everything at ultra settings without any issues.
So keeping them is sound advice. :)

Beautiful rig by the way

These would look nice in a new build :)

What's the chance of your misses falling for

I really need a second rig - honest :D

lol, Mrs P lets me get away with murder most of the time but two gaming rigs would not wash with her

This build could never be called economical & was changed a few times in its development.
I always like to get my cards on release, as you have a better chance of getting a good overclocker & you don't have issues with fitting water blocks on a reference card.

+1

A set of Corsair Dominator Platinums would go well (colour wise) with the rig too.

I think that's a very good call (they look very nice in your recent build :)) but with the price of RAM being so high at this time, I think that maybe for the next build. ;)

That is one of the most stunning rigs I've ever laid my eyes on!

Thank you all for your very kind remarks.
This is the full build if anyone is interested but be prepared to spend a lot of time reading through it all. :D

lol, even though I don't post that often I have been reading about your exploits with your GPU's (also Kaapstad & whyscotty)

I think between you all, you are stopping us from having a triple dip recession ;)
