I am not happy with the temprature of the GFX 580's at idle. They look far to high.

Any tips on keeping them down? I'm scared to use it for browsing the web when they are that high.

I have a coolmaster case, comes with 4 fans, all hooked up to a fan controller. Also have a venom on the CPU.

The SLI is what's the issue because they are so close together. I just don't trust water cooling though.

The cards are probably to close together, mind if i ask. Why do you need tri sli 580's, they dont make much difference in game tbh. What are they hitting at load?

As above, bit high for idle but no cause for concern, its when the load temps shoot past 90C you need to start worrying.

My 580 idles around 50c~ and this is with the fan ticking over, when folding the temps go to around 70c~ with the fan just about audible.

Run Furmark or games and see what the max gets to.

I have a front controller so I can set the fan speed as needed. But once put under pressure (extreme 3D mark setting) the computer gets VERY loud.

Is there any software that can permantly place the GPU temps on the screen, even when a game is playing?

If I could find professional watercooling fitters in West Midlands I'd consider it, I don't fancy doing that myself. I am just scared that a leak will mess the whole system because I've heard of it happening over time.

MSI afterburner can display information on your screen while playing games. There is a few things it displahys, gpu usage, gpu temp, fan speed etc..

As for watercooling, with the standardised nature of it now to how it used to be it is a lot easier to do and less risk of leaks. If you confident in your ability with pc hardware, read everything you can, use quality parts and take your time there shouldn't be any problem with watercooling your rig.

1. you have fermi cards. they run hot. this is no secret. i am sure you researched this before buying a grands worth of GPUs

2. why dont you 'trust' watercooling? there is nothing dangerous about watercooling, the only time watercooling goes wrong is down to user error. when people dont read up.
watercooling never leaks if you use good components.

3. trisli is massive overkill for anything. if you are so bothered about temps, sell one of the cards. 2 way sli is still overkill for pretty much everything.

when posting a thread like this, it is best to give a brief outline of your system spec so people can advise on things like slot layouts etc.

I might just knuckle down and crack on with it. The old dear will have a fit if I'm playing Black Ops whilst she's watching Eastenders or one of them stupid soaps.

Is there anywhere near the West Midlands that stock a large selection of water cooling supplies? I have no way to order online so would go to collect them.
