Not sure where to post this but here goes.

Hi everyone. I'm thinking of going 3-way SLI and water cooling my system, but I only play racing games (dirt, dirt 2, grid etc). I don't play any FPS games. Is it worth it just for this type of game?

No, I don't even think 2waySLI is worth it, most if not all the racing games currently out shouldn't need such power.

2 way Sli scales quite well in most games, but adding a third card only increases you electric bill and makes the room you are playing in even hotter.

To be honest the games you mention will all max out at 1920x1200 with a GTX 460.

Might come in handy for eyefinity? Or would a game like F1 2010 need an SLI set up, for eyefinity; I don't know?

All the ego engine games (Dirt/Grid/Dirt 2) run fantastic on my SLI set-up.

It's a particularly good engine on the PC, so it'll run smooth with just a single card though.

A single GTX 460 will suffice for maxed out settings at 1920x no problem.

Well I play at 1600x1200 for now, but when I get a new monitor it will be higher. And I already have one 460 so I think I'll just buy another and settle with that.

I think you'll be fine with one tbh, any more is overkill for your needs.

If you only play racing games, I don't believe there's a title out there that wont run maxed on a single GTX 460.

If you're desperate to improve your experience, have you considered buying a good sound set-up or something instead?
