Hi fellow folders.

This time last week I was folding with just 1x athlon xp2500 and occasionally an xp1800. And on about 20,000 points.

But thanks to my new boss not knowing how to use Linux, and with some help from BillytheImpaler, I can now show off my 30,000 certificate!

1300ppd - that's good work! According to Stanford you have 26 processors folding, which is impressive.

I'm guilty of missing your storm up the rankings this week! Good stuff indeed :)

Yesterday I installed F@H on our mail server, which is a Dual Xeon 2.8Ghz. I don't think it has returned any results yet though.

It's notciably hotter in our server room though! I don't think the air-con can cope!

If summer rolls around and the air conditionng really cannot deal with the extra heat, you'll have to remove FAH from some of the machines. The CPUs will not fry if cooling fails because they'll enter thermal protection mode and begin throttling, but the performance of the server will be drastically lowered. Best not risk it if it looks like it could go either way.
 
Luckily the Blade Centres increase their fan speed when it gets hotter. So it should just get more noisey. At full pelt they sound like a plane taking off!
Will be keeping an eye on it anyway.

For the moment but with all those borgs of yours you won't take long catching up. I don't see my farm expanding in the near future - although I'm sorely tempted to order a 3700+ as OcUK seem to be selling good clockers at the moment :p some of them have been getting to 3GHz on air :eek:

Money a bit tight at the moment though, will have to wait until I get back from Egypt :(

Folding is a great cause but certainly not one worth losing your job for.

I don't want to put you off, just want to make sure you're not getting carried away in the spirit of it all - that said though excellent stuff fella and congrats on the spiffy tiffy!!! :D

Thanks for the concern though Rich, I firmly believe that I would not be any trouble if the boss found out. I expect I'd have to remove it from the Windows server but thats about it. He doesn't understand or like Linux enough to care about them.

Unless it affects the performace of the systems in a bad way, which I won't be able to tell until next week. As long as I keep it on the non really big WU's it should be ok ;)

How many CPUs have you got going? And more importantly - how many GHz (that'll take you some time :o)?

Seriously though, you're flying up those tables - 1800+ ppd and rising and 2nd in the league table.

Ummm... Total CPUs is:

14 X 3.06Ghz Xeon
2 X 2.8Ghz Xeon
1 X Athlon 64 3500
1 X Athlon XP 2500
1 X Athlon XP 1800 Mildly overclocked
Total Ghz is 54.04. Unless I have counted wrong somewhere?

Each Xeon is running 2 clients.
