30/11 Strikes.

It is because of the marxist culture, some how the british education system and labour government encourage a sort of marxist ideology amongst the public sector. As well as labour party encouraging unions, this becomes a vicious circle of sorts. The marxist culture is all about the "good fight" the fight for "workers rights". A few months ago milliband stood up and did a speech about the student protests where he compared the "plight" of the students protesting for cheaper education to the slaves fighting for freedom and the fight for womens rights and the fight for racial equality in the usa. Which of course just speaks volumes to the state of illusion that these muppets are in. They honestly believe that this is a conspiracy by the "private sector" or the corporate run conservatives against the "working class" which of course is what all the public sector workers classify themselves as. The public sector workers, in general, believe that they are doing gods work, a much more holy job than that of the private sector. Th public sector is reserved for people who are doing life and death jobs, this is why they are entitled to additional benefits. Ok that might be going a bit far, but realy it is about greed, at the end of the day, when you push past all the marxist BS and rhetoric about workers and unions etc. You just have a greedy person who wants more money.

Precisely and that is why I think we need to revert to local employers with some central support and funding.

NHS regions or trusts, County areas for Education Fire Police or Unitary authorities

Private enterprise is organised locally and regionally for the most part. Why is there the need to have an equal pay and rewards structure between central London and the Outer Hebrides.

No live weather forecast.... having to use a pre-recorded one. Surely one of the presenters or anyone else could just do it!

Apparently BBC news weather presenters are striking today as well. Do we really need an army of weather bimbos on huge salaries and generous pensions to read the weather, can't they just get the regular newsreaders to do it?

A BBC weather bimbo did the forecast on Breakfast News this morning. You're jealous because you don't have a job like that. ;)

I hereby put forward a motion for private sector strikes in opposition to paying for the public sectors pensions.

I think your time would be better spent organising private sector workers to strike for better private sector pensions!

What's that got to do with anything?

Just a happy tale I thought I'd recount :) I found the info when googling to try to find what they get paid. (I hesitate to say 'earn'). Seems the BBC may agree with me as they have culled some of their weather presenters. Certainly one has to wonder why we would feel the need to hire a Polish one, I doubt there is a shortage of British born people qualified and willing to do his job.

TBH the strikers are like spoilt children. They are being offered something which is very generous given the economic gloom affecting the whole world economy, not just today but for the foreseeable future and maybe forever. Yet instead of recognising this and getting on with it, they throw their toys out of the pram and want more - more of other people's money. They MUST be resisted, their blackmail must fail.

Also personally, if it were legal which I suppose it isn't, when there comes the need for redundancies, the strikers can be first out the door.

Rubbish. They're taxing local government workers pensions to pay back the deficit. I call that stealing.

The strike is legal. I doubt my line managers (all three of whom are in the union) will be firing me for striking, as they also are.

Ah yes that is the argument of the strikers and unions isn't it.

Well there simply isn't enough money for everyone to have a great pension. It has to be paid for. I know leftists don't understand this concept. They think there is a magic pot of cash somewhere which can be plundered ad infinitum. Trouble is, that pot isn't magic, and it isn't bottomless, and the cash in it comes only from working people who do productive work to give the money value.

You don't 'pay back' a deficit. Do you understand the difference between deficit and debt?

Sure the strike is legal, it doesn't mean it's justified or going to achieve what you want. In fact I hope the government now withdraws its generous offer and tells you to get stuffed, strike more, bring it on, smash the unions. They've been spoiling for a fight since the Tories got in, let's give them one.

judging by the amount of teachers missing from the group outside the school it would appear most got cold and went Christmas shopping, handy having a strike on payday

Yeah all teachers are out living the life of Riley right now. None could possibly be sat at home marking work, planning lessons etc.

They compared public and private sector pensions on the news this morning and it turns out that private sector pensions paying in the same amount on a final salary scheme were better off - but don't let government misinformation cloud your judgement or anything. I'd like to see the public sector workers on the huge pensions because the people I know certainly don't have them unless you count a £13k pension for a retired headteacher as massive.

Oh well at least benefits have been increased the lazy can sit by, pay no tax and pick up an increase.

I sometimes wonder who the mugs are here, go to work, pay your tax and struggle or sit at home, get a house free, and seem to have a great life.

Got a great story of a guy and women who have had 5 kids, no income, free house, sit at home all day, when they had the 5th kid they get provided with help for 2 hours each day for free to do the washing and cleaning, what has this country come too.
