30/11 Strikes.

hes also talking **** he's hardly going to say they have got us by the balls is he

was funny he had to resort to name calling at PMQs today, fingers crossed the government will implode before long

Yes I'm sure you can't wait to get Labour back in to dig us deeper into the mire.

Reading comprehension fail.

The test is "majority of members voting" NOT "majority of members".

The test, as it currently stands in law (although I expect that to be changed soon) was met.

Besides, if we want to fret about voter turnout, let's worry about voter turnout at general elections long before we worry about it at union ballots.

If I was one of the union leaders where turnout was circa 30% I would certainly be somewhat embarrased at the turn out regardless of the legality of it all.

Serious question............

do you think labour or any other government would have fared any better ?

do you think labour would have been able to continue with their reckless tax and spend and then spend a load more you don't have but fill the gap by borrowing more ?

What's your alternative plan for keeping this countries fiscal head and arse together ?

I am not saying that this current government is the best thing since sliced bread but at least they are trying albeit not to well, to show some kind of fiscal responsibility.

The previous administration has shown us how to waster 12 billion on a doomed from the start computer system, how to waste a few more billion on an ID card scheme that was doomed from the start, how to sell the countries gold reserves when the price is at its lowest and how to bloat the public sector worker and student populations to massage unemployment figures.

Yes you can see we should have certainly voted those jokers back in and I am sure we would have had a combination of Merkel and Sarkozi's hands up our collective British arses while begging for bail out assistance from the IMF and Eurozone

It wasn't name calling it was stating fact. Up until a few days ago when he stated otherwise his stance on the proposed strike was that it shouldn't go ahead... until it became of possible benefit to him & Labour then he switched sides.

Enlighten us - I can't see the ironing in that statement.

you missed it , but here it is again :)

Labour would have been shafted as well. Of course, then we'd have George Osborne snapping at Ed Balls across the dispatch box after Balls' Autumn Statement, and nothing would really be any different.

Stupid bi-partisan politics.

Nope - they'd have probably made it worse.

Rather than me explaining it, go and have a read of a few of the Green parties policies.

I am not saying that this current government is the best thing since sliced bread but at least they are trying albeit not to well, to show some kind of fiscal responsibility.

I disagree - the level of financial irresponsibility - at least towards those who don't have enough capital to not care, is astounding.

I agree.

I've never voted Labour and I can't see myself ever doing so in the forseable future.

How does that fit in with your stereotype of a lefty, militant, career trade unionist?
