30/11 Strikes.

He is not a comedian he is a motoring presenter for the BBC. Comedians do push boundaries and the results are sometimes tasteless but they usually learn from the experience as their livlihoods depend on it. Clarkson continues to embarrass his employers and the BBC should be taking action against him. You talk of fairness, well Mr Brand was punished so why not Clarkson?

As for your inane comment about not listening, it appeared on the main news so I had no choice in the matter.

Putting aside that Top Gear hasn't been a pure motoring programme for quite a while, the comment was obviously done for comedic effect. It wasnt even aimed at the strikes but rather the BBCs impartiality policy. The full interview put in context pretty much shows this. He even stated that the views expressed were not even his when saying them.

Or the humour can be found in irony of your post, as you're making an arse of yourself. Hohoho.

If he had said it about black people he would have been vilified by all but he chose a group of people exercising their democratic rights. Making a comment about someone's inappropriate behaviour is making an arse of youself?? Then the majority of posters on these forums come into that category.

I never stated he was a comedian?

What brand did was different, and you know it.

Clarkson, gave both view points, as he was informed. As has already been said, once again the media have missed out the first part of the entire conversation, which if read back, is a man giving two view points.

Again, lighten up, I don;t care if it was on national news, get over it.

'Oh noes I heard something offensive!!11'...Well done, carry on with your day please :p

So, If i said that one viewpoint on black people is that they should all be killed and buried alive, what would you say?

Top gear is not a motoring program (old top gear was, it sucked hence why it got cancelled) new top gear (2002-current) is a car themed entertainment show, big (although perhaps subtle) difference.

Please stop posting about something you don't actually know anything about, here is the transcript of what was said, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15993558 there don't you feel stupid? because you sure look it.

Why is wilful and blatant misrepresentation so characteristic of the political left?

It's almost like they can't make a reasonable argument based on reality...

To be fair Dolph if he'd have said "all Tories should be lined up and shot" we'd be having exactly the same discussion. Actually, if he'd said that we'd probably be discussing why JC had been dismissed from the BBC on gross misconduct!

Over reacting and mis-represntation is not the sole preserve of the left is it now?

I don't know, I've seen plenty of people defending those who wish death on Margaret Thatcher, and that was taken perfectly in context

;)

Sole, no absolutely not, however it does seem far more common from the left when trying to have an otherwise sensible discussion. An example would be trying to equate any attempt to reform the NHS with a move towards a US system as if it's a binary choice, over and over again despite corrections.

As opposed to your constant misreprentation and constantly branding everyone who disagrees with you as a socialist and without merit when they put a different viewpoint. I have never know anyone as dogmatic as you as your posts constantly prove.

Brian Limond for one.

Yes, and there was a kerfuffle around that as well, leading to the following statement from Brian:-

I have deleted my tweets, and I´d like to apologise for any offence caused. It is never my intention to offend. Please RT.

So not dissimilar to the JC affair really except JC comments reached a wider audience hence the larger kerfuffle.

But media lawyer Mark Stephens said Unison had no chance of succeeding in a prosecution against Mr Clarkson.

He told the BBC: "He has a right to his freedom of expression and that is protected in just the same way as people yesterday were exercising their rights, perfectly legitimately, to free expression, both by the words that they uttered on strike and also by their actions in refraining from labour."

That is all

You forgot lying unions misrepresenting the JC comments out of context and creating a manufactured campaign of outrage, probably in an attempt to divert attention from their failed attempt to blackmail the country with strike action ;)

Why has Dolph reverted this this style of post which asks a slightly roundabout, but absolutely of the zeitgeist, question as he enters a discussion?

Particularly as it is usually followed by a 'because these people are silly' written in a way to make it seem like he isn't saying it directly, following it up with a number of dots...
I don't know if you noticed how much you do it, but it is amusing :p
