Trying to find a decent list of monitors that fit this spec.
Decided against 4k,so started a new thread

Not bothered about g-sync. As it adds to cost so I understand and more for competiiv gamers.

So I'm looking for something better on colour accuracy, blacks etc than refresh rate. But ideally something above 60Hz

Even just a list of options would be nice.

X34, whichever variant, and get gsync. You can pick these up for a good price now and dont underestimate exactly how good gsync is at higher resolutions.

G-Sync isn't just for competitive gamers. What GPU do you have? If AMD it makes it redundant anyway. What's your budget?

IPS is good for colour accuracy but not great on blacks. VA has better blacks but slightly worse colour accuracy. That said, I've recently moved from an X34 (IPS) to LG 32GK850G (VA) and not had any issues with colour accuracy but the blacks are noticeably better. I'm very happy with it. Also there is no bleed which IPS is often notoiurious for, with some panels suffering horrendously which you will soon notice in dark scenes in a dimly lit room.

I would probably pick the LG 850G or 850F for 16:9, or the Alienware for UW out of the current market option.

Ultra wide would be ideal.
I have an aging u2711 now with a u2410 but want to consolidate.

So 32 is ideal.

Ultra wide seems sensible. I don't need any more height.

I have a 1070 gpu. But I'm not nvidia committed. So thought freesync would cut the cost.

Never had a VA panel, but this seems the hardest choice.

So I've got in the list
X34 (probably a bit pricey)
Or 32gk850

This is looks the best so far

I'm using the below and it's serving me well enough, fairly cheap as well if you're not concerned with high refreshrates or don't want to pay the G-Sync tax.

Acer B321HQUA - WQHD IPS £200-250

- Monitor Size: 31.5"
- Screen Format: 16:9
- Brightness: 300 cd/m² (typ)
- Contrast Ratio Dynamic: 100.000.000:1
- Viewing Angle: 178°/178° (CR 10)
- Response Time: 4 ms
- Maximum Resolution: 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz (Display Port)
- Recommend Resolution: 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz
- Colors: 1.07B
- Inputs: DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI
- Dimensions (WxHxD mm):729.8x486x180
- VESA: 100x100mm

Not fussed about g-sync. And 600 is def limit of what I'm wanting to pay.
But I do want a good panel. And something over 60hz would be nice

What's your definition of a 'good panel'? Pretty much every IPS has BLB, which may annoy the hell out of you. I would still take a close look at the 32GK850G, as based on my own experience it's very close to IPS colour accuracy, zero bleed, 144Hz and the bonus of G-Sync... which although you say you're not fussed about, is a nice thing to have if you own an Nvidia GPU.

When it comes to monitors, you're basically determined by your use case. If you're a professional who demands colour accuracy for work, there are several high end IPS monitors around your price range that will do the job, but they are all going to be 60Hz. Anything else is going to be more gaming oriented and feature G-Sync or Freesync. The latter is useless if you have an Nvidia card.

Well it's a 10bit panel and does 75hz if you force it, personally I can't justify anything more expensise, there isn't much point in the higher refreshrates when most modern games at 1440p will be around 60fps and I refuse to pay the G-Sync tax.

But cause I'm not professional and I dont gMe that much I want that half way house.

I still think Id like over 60hz.

Ill still consider the VA.

It is tough as professional and gaming are quite different

The problem is there aren't really any good halfway house monitors lol!

So I have found.
Actually tempted to keep what I have. Feels like a waste to spend more to get what is now feeling like little extra!

I've decided there's nothing worth spending my cash on. I'll just stick with what I have now.

There's no obvious choice on what to get.
They are all mega expensive for what they are.
PPI will be same
Dissapointed compared to price and quality of TVs
Having to commit to a gpu brand for sync to work

AOC Q3279VWFD8 32" perhaps?

Still not released seemingly, but now available for pre-order/purchase with a later delivery date. £200-£275 depending on where you look. Overclockers staff didn't see it in their upcoming stock when I checked with them last week.

IPS, 1440p, 75hz with freesync support. Very budget features (no USB, no Vesa so will need an adapter, no up down adjustment on the stand). Found one guy on youtube with it so far, who seemed to quite rate it. Random Hobbies I believe was the name of the channel.
