30" or 27"?

The bigger the better imo. :p

Factors you might want to consider though are connectivity, aspect ratio, cost and a plethora of other factors. Would be easier if you let us know what you are buying it for and what your budget is. ;)

You dont need to move your head to look at a 30" monitor... unless you are about 3cm from it that is. :)

I sit around 36" from mine and it's great.

Recommended viewing distance for a monitor is 18". At that distance, to comfortably see into the corners, I need to move my head with a 20 inch monitor. Forcing your eyes to take the strain of looking into the corners will cause strain on your eye muscles. Even more when you consider the correct height for the top of the screen, is eye-level. So seeing into the bottom corners is far too much, for eye movement alone.

If you're gaming, then it probably won't matter, as the action is designed to be mainly in the centre of the screen, but if you're working with CAD, photos, or text based work, your eyes will be frequently off centre. You have to remember, the bigger the screen, the higher the resolution, thus the smaller the text... which is why the viewing distance tends to stay pretty constant.

I'd say judge by the type of usage.

After using 30" for about a months or so now, I can't see myself going back to anything else. Obviously I can only speak from my experience but you get used to it after maybe a day or 2. Wonderful to use for just about everything.

Agree totally, I have had my Dell for less than 24 hours and I love it, yes it’s a huge outlay of money but it should at least last 3 + years:p:p
