30 question: Can this be done?

Let me start with how things are:

2 360 HDDs, mine and the missus'. Mine has however many years of saved games on it, and hers has a load of DLC.

Can i copy my saves across to her HDD (after importing my profile off the interwebs) and use her DLC on my account?

Simples ?

Is DLC connected to the user like? i.e if you have 2 Live! users on 1 360, can only the one who has purchsed the DLC (arcade games etc) play them?

Yeah I back my saves up to memory card, it will be tied to your profile whereever you move it to.

Yes Bri only the person that purchased it can play the game alone, although you can sign in the other gamertag as a guest as long as the main profile is logged in. If your going to play along just use the other tag anyway. I wouldn't buy it twice just for 200 gamerpoints.
 
i think all DLC is linked to your tag AND the console (it only needs to verify one to work), so in theory as long as the console it was purchased on is in use either tag should be able to use it i think (I'm sure I tried this a while ago but can't remember if thats how it worked off hand)

If it is on a diff console, the tag that purchased the content needs to be connected to Live. if not, things like arcade games revert to the trials until you do connect

It's Console AND gamer tag, and there are many tricks you can do.

Yes, you can play all the DLC on her console on your gamer tag (ie, my mrs plays the fable 2 dlc I bought on my main console) but you can also play her DLC and arcade games on your console. Get her to log on with her tag on your console on a 2nd controller then while it's active log on with yours and play. (I do this on my 2nd console so my kids can play arcade games I bought my other 360).
 
My girlfriend logs into my console with her tag and plays my Live Arcade games. It's just console. I've tested it since my last post and it still works.
