im looking for a soundcard, which will hook up to a hifi from 3.5 to RCA, for around £30.
basically -

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Sound Card - OEM (PCI)

or

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Sound Card - OEM (PCI-Express)

The PCI-E version has digital in/out which could be usefull, however does not have the x-fi chip i believe.

any help welcome, thanks

they seem to be a bit pricey - minimum £45, im fine with 2nd hand, any other suggestions, ill keep my eyes on them though

EMU 0404 looks like a very good deal, some going for £6 at the moment on the bay, does that produce decent sound? as it has all the outputs and inputs i am looking for at a very reasonable price

They don’t sell for that much though buddy, looking at 25-30 used.

Id look at getting a 2nd hand M-AUDIO-Audiophile 2496, could bag one for 30quid and sound quality is superb.

Audigy 4 OEM's use a E-MU processor, audio performance is a great deal better than the old Audigy 2.

or as MeatLoaf suggested go for a used X-Fi extreme music.

How is the Audigy 4 vs the XFI?

I used to have an XtremeMusic but sold it because I needed money. Now I'm stuck with onboard sound and I can't stand it, but I'm not looking to spend much. Also are there any decent USB or firewire soundcards?
