Hi,

I've been trying my best to get around what to look for in a monitor but I thought I'd ask for some help as I'm hitting a bit of a brick wall.

I currently have a BenQ GL2450 which has served me well. I'm looking to spend around £300 on a 1440p 27" monitor but I'm unsure about what's best to go for (mainly response time and input lag)?

My current setup:
  • Intel 4790K
  • Asus Z97-K
  • ASUS Geforce GTX1070 STRIX OC
  • 16GB RAM

I mainly play FPS games (BF1, PUBG, Day of Infamy etc.).

Current models I've been looking at:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...n-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-031-ao.html <-- cheap but looks good

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/benq...ing-flicker-free-monitor-black-mo-110-bq.html <-- trusty BenQ, IPS screen but then an increased response time of 4ms - input lag is reported at being around 18ms, is that too high for fairly competitive (online esports) gaming?

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...eroframe-monitor-orange-black-mo-11g-ac.htmlM <-- looks great in terms of specs and reviews, but its red. red. why red. my setup is blue and the overiding OCD inside of me is preventing me from this being an option

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/benq...descreen-led-monitor-black-red-mo-114-bq.html <-- good price but stepping back to 1080p - is the step up to 1440p that good and worthwhile?

Any help would be much appreicaited!

Thanks,
Simon

If you are into fps games then you need to be looking at 144hz panels and 1080p is good enough for fps games unless you can stretch to £400+ for 27" higher resolution panels...

Literally what @BaroUK2 said, playing FPS games mainly you want the refresh rates and if you want that at 1440p it’s more expensive than 1080p, especially if you want GSync to go with the Nvidia card you have.
