im basically looking for a widescreen 20.1" TFT monitor for around £300 but can strech to about £350.

It will be for mostly gaming, and secondly for watching dvds etc on so the specs id like to be high. it also must jhave the ability to stick a wall mount on it as i plan to do this in the near future.

Im most leaning towars the viewsonic2025 (i think its called) as it seems to have very good specs for the price.

I would like it to be HD able but it appears most monitors still havent got this yet. I heard that there is a 'Gateway' Monitor from US i beleive, that is HD able and has very good specs, however i dont know the price and how much it is to import.

Thanks for any help

this article might help you decide. The Viewsonic VX2025WM would be a very good choice for your needs i think, and the Belinea 102035W uses the same panel as well. They both use P-MVA panels offering good all round performance. There are extensive threads on the VX2025WM, 102035W and the others featured in that article if you do a quick search too :)

yeah i think im going to go with the viewsonic, only concern is whats in the pipeline?

is there any amazingly new comingout soon that will advance the screens much more, and wont add too much? such as HD able, or anything like that? i cant seem to find any news of this so i gues not?

one small thing that put me off is that the viewsonic DOESNT potray high definition stuff, (what i heard off another forum) such as Xbox 360 etc etc, if not i would buy one!

i recommend belinea 20.1" at mo, cousin has it and its awesome ;)

yeah i thought they used the same panel too, which would mean neither of the monitors allow HD.

How much will the dell cost? i can wait if its in my price range, but there will be no point if its not.

The fact that viewsonic isnt HD really puts me off, i will use this monitor for many years to come hopefully, like my CRT i have used for the last 10 years now, so HD is really compulsory

I thought the Belinea and the ViewSonic used the same panel anyway

the Belinea 102035W and Viewsonic VX2025WM are both using the same panel from AU Optronics. Neither has HDCP certification

Isn't the next Dell model going to blow everything else out of the water when it comes out early May....?

it's due out soon as it's certainly one of the most anticipated screens coming this year. However, we don;t know how good it will be yet. The spec doesn't suggest anything fantastic really but we will have to wait and see
