Hi everyone
iv had an athlon x4 640 paired with an hd 7850 (both cpu and gpu are overclocked) for a while now, and although it still plays everything (certainly at 1280 * 720 which is my projector resolution) I just feel treating myself to to an upgrade.
I was thinking of one of the fx 8320 with an arctic freezer pro cooler plus a 970 chipset MB and overclock it.
I am also tempted to purchase a smallish SSD (c120 gig) and pair this with a 1 terrabyte hdd. Budget is c£300 nd i would be reusing my 8 gig of ddr 3 ram from the current system.
Would this create a noticibly faster faster machine - and i presume I would be best to put OS and apps on SDD with games on the HDD - i notice the following is on offer this week -
Kingston 120GB SSD Now V300 Drive SATA 6Gb/s 3 2.5" (7mm height) Solid State Hard Drive £65
Any recommendations would be appreciated - also, but on a quick look through the cpu forums the posts seem heavily weighted towards Intel chips - are they so much better VFM?
cheers
