I remember when I used a 300 baud modem with my Atari and just looking again at how fast things have advanced.

Wondering if anybody ever used a slower modem?

I still have a modem for my Amstrad CPC 464. There was not really an internet so to speak, just some teletext looking stuff on this thing called Prestel.

Proper old school.

First I remember is 28.8K dial-up. Show's how young I am compared with you guys :P.

Though I've used slower. Was in West-Africa in 1998 IIRC and the internet there was the slowest thing ever.

Next slowest would be when I was testing the first WAP mobile phone data connection (year or two before they were released and before GPRS came about). Had to use one PDA thingy with the browser on it connecting by infra-red to the special mobile phone that was making the data connection.
That was faster than Africa though :D.
