£300 build please

Hey guys I'm always saying to me mates that building yourself is cheaper so me my mate has challenged me to build one for his dad, £300 or near about is the limit. Casual surfing, watch sky sports etc. Can't see him needing SSD

Does he need a monitor also? if so add about £100 or so on

No monitor needed and don't think he'll need Windows either so that build up there looks really good. What's the cheapest gfx card with a hdmi socket?

if your not playing games just find a motherboard with HDMI on it, I bought a AM3 Nforce motherboard with Geforce 9400 built in for £43 and it plays most games at low settings .most nforce motherboards with on board graphics are 1080p these days if you want a gaming PC tell him to spend as much as he can afford, as the GPU does all the hard work when gaming.

As above, if no gaming then get a motherboard with onboard graphics, you can always add a graphics card later, with onboard you will be able to do everything as normal but not good for gaming other than solitaire etc.

That 5450 will be enough for the old classic games though if your mates dad is into a bit of C&C etc.

Should even run Modern Warfare.
