Hi,

My friend is looking for an upgrade with £300, CPU, Mobo, RAM. Already has a PSU, but an upgrade could be nice if the budget would allow it - but not necessary.

Already has everything else (keyboard, monitor OS etc- including;
lian li armorsuit p50r
Asus GTX 560TI

Any ideas?

Both build suggestions are very good but I always feel as if Intel are just too superior in terms of performance and I found myself going budget with Amd before until I eventually had to upgrade again which sucked :(

Is the I5 £80 better than the FX though? It's better on lightly threaded games like WOW and worse at highly threaded games like BF4. So it comes down to budget and usage.

Don't forget you get an upgrade path with the Intel, dropping in an i7 in the future and overclocking it - with the AMD this isn't possible, AM3+ is in essence a dead socket.

8320 is an excellent CPU granted, but I would spend a little more for the "upgradeability." Good bang for buck with the 8320 though.
