£300 half build

I'm building a PC for a friend but I'm not really up to date on recent hardware. I know we want a 8800GT, but could I get a little advice on CPU, Mobo and RAM?

I have a E6300, which doesn't seem to exist anymore. Is the E4500 the lowest we should go? If the budget allows I was thinking I would just get him the same ram as me for overclocking (geil PC2-6400C4), if not some generic stuff will do and we will leave it at stock. Hows the gigabyte DS3 for bang for buck?

He has all the other components for the build. I'm pretty sure his old case is suitable, I'll give it a check a little later.

To recap, it's just GPU, Motherboard, CPU, PSU and RAM.

This just about hits the budget dead on, you've got a good CPU for overclocking, a basic but decent motherboard and the rest is all good solid stuff.
