£300 Laptop

dell have removed the option to get 1gb in the vostro which means its more expensive, whats the best laptop around for £300?

i dont want one of these crappy small things, tried one in a shop and they are like toys, and too small

The Hewlett Packard 500 series of laptops, (the budget business ones) can be had for under £300 at the cheapest.

cheers i think im gonna get an acer extensa for £334 from my local comp store, its pentium dual core processor but its 1.8ghz and 2gb ram, decent hard drive so think thats the cheapest decent one around

It might be worth considering secondhand as well, someone else will already have taken the initial hit of depreciation.

TigerUK, nice thought but I'm afraid that counts as linking to competitors which is prohibited in the FAQ so you might want to remove the link before it is removed.
