Hi, I've got £300 to spend on a new motherboard and cpu. PLEASE could someone help me get the best for my money. It has to be intel and may be able to stretch upto £350 but nothing more.

I use my computer mainly for video conversion, surfing and occasional gaming on steam (killing floor, black ops, dead space 3 etc).

Thankyou.

ps. I've been advised on this so far...

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor,
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

but I'm reluctant as I've heard an i7 would be better for video conversion.

I7 should assist with its hyperthreading cores, but ail be above your price range:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £197.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £95.99
Total : £304.78 (includes shipping : £9.00).

or

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £275.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £95.99
Total : £382.78 (includes shipping : £9.00).

Don`t MSI advocate returning items to the retailer unless they(retailer) are bankrupt, etc.
I know when I made inquires about RMAing one of my Gpus, this is what I was told from MSI. I got in touch with the seller and they made arrangements for me to return the card. Check with OCUK and see if they handle the RMA for the warranty of the board.
