I am looking for a ~£300 netbook with the best battery life. It also needs a 10inch screen and has to be strong enough for travel use.

What is around at the moment, or will be around in the next few months?

Well it has to be the Asus EEEpc 1000HE as it has a 9.5 hour battery life, is £305 if you look around. And I have just unpacked mine lol!!! :) Can't give you too much feedback at the mo as I have just added the extra 2GB i bought and I am booting it for the first time as I type. But from what I have read it is an awesome little machine and I will wright a review after a few days use.

Could you post some real life battery times? (eg. watching videos, and using wifi)

The netbook will only be used for travel, so i don't care about things like looks too much as it will get battered quite quickly!

Other option from what i can see is the Samsung N110?

The longest battery life at the moment only 1000HE.

My battery life while watching movie with wi-fi on when i checked around 8 hrs and you get more with everything off.

I get between 7.5 hours and 8.5 hours with my 1000HE, that's for day to day usage, some surfing with WIFI on, some movies watching, office type work etc.

But you'll have to make sure you set the screen brightness down for that sort of time, not a problem if your in a office/room with good lighting, but can be a problem if your outside in the sunlight.

See my review of the 1000HE here

Also unlike some other netbooks the battery on this one is swappable so you can take a spare with you and have 18 hours worth of battery life available.
