ok chaps have asked before but now ive done some reading i no a tiny bit more ...

Im after cpu, hd and windows 8.

i currently have a GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard with AMD FX-6100
and gtx 660 3gb gpu with corsair cx750 psu

now i only have a cheap 1080p tv so i dont need anything to high end but i am maxing out my cpu ( not overclocked as i have no idea how )...

whats my best options for gaming please... also wondering if the 2nd hand market is worth a dabble..

cheers for advice in advance

Go with a 280X (£200 new) or R9 290 (£280 new)

They're great value at the moment, your cpu should be fine in most games for now to be honest... A new cpu will give you like 10% more performance

i can get my hands on a PowerColor Radeon R9 280X 3GBD5-DHE he brought in error used it for a day for 100 quid

would this really be my best option of upgrade for my budget as ive not looked into that thought mine was enough for 1080

Yeah I would grab it personally. :D

Get a decent cpu cooler ( if you have not already ) and clock as much as you can from the current cpu. Sure this will be enough for decent frame rate.

i have one of these >>> Aerocool Strike-X One Mid-Tower Gaming Case Screwless Black Interior : EN58360

i had to copy and paste it from ebay. didnt put the page link in as i was unsure of forum rules on ebay links...

Personally I would look at getting an ssd and a decent air cooler or all in one liquid cooler and learn to overclock (plenty of guides and advice on the forum).

i think this will actually fit nicely i have 2 led fans on top i can just remove and replace with this unit or similar..

problem is its got me looking at the hole watercooling thing now  some of the systems look awesome..

cheers once again for the advice chaps

Youll need a whole lot more money for a custom loop

well with my 300 quid budget im going for the following>>> my mates graphics card i mentioned above.... windows 8 and a sshd 2tb. going to add a few quid if needed for cooling on cpu and overclock it as mentioned above....

then start saving for watercooling everything.... never ending

Yes we're all in the never ending upgrade. ;)
Anyway so £100 for the 280x, £80 for windows8, £25 for a hyper 212 evo (cooler) leaves you £95 for storage. You can get a nice 120gb ssd if you look around for £45 and then a seperate 2tb for games, music and all that

will i notice a big diff between ssd and sshd?? this is a right mind boggle when you have no clue about pc components lol

An sshd is a normal slow hard drive with a cache (usually 8gb) so basically it has a little ssd in it where the stuff that you usually open gets stored in to allow faster boot times etc. However an ssd is all round fast non mechanical stuff and if you dont use that much space id personally go for a MX100 SSD from crucial. The 250gb one goes for like £78 these days
