Wherever I can get them, Muffin, is the easiest way of putting it! 
In the case of that Puma, I knew someone who knew someone who wanted shot of it, so I just made them an offer. It drove really well, brilliant engine, fair bit of history (no cambelt though although the owner claimed it was done the year before), only thing I could fault it on was some light rust on the rear arches and a knock from the rear suspension occasionally!
Good engines those 1.7's!

Just picked up a ****box with 8 months MOT and 2 months tax, with cambelts done for £257 
That puma looks great!

About 3 months ago I got a stinky old Accord for £275 with 7 months MOT and 2 months tax. Automatic and complete with fake leather and fake wood interior....and it's got VTEC yo.
I had to drive 120 miles to get it though.
Sub £300 is usually spares or repairs territory in my experience....but there's always people out there who can get better deals than you/me.

i picked up a vw polo 1.3 a year ago for £165 with 7months mot n 3months tax
when i took it for an mot it went though with nothing wrong and has been 100% reliable
