Hey guys and girls,

As the title says really - I need the parts for a desktop capable of running SolidWorks, MATLAB and other engineeringy software, along with the usual HD video and internet browsing etc.

I only need the tower. Things I don't need include a screen, a keyboard/mouse, or an OS.

I'm a bit out of the loop for budget builds, so any help would be fantastic :)

Oh, the closer to £300 the better (or even less :D)

Cheers.

The slightly better GPU on the OP's build will help Solidworks. Looks good unless you invisage editing huge assemblies. Parts and relatively simple assemblies will be fine.

Yeah it'll just be small parts and assemblies. I thought an actual GPU might be a better route to go, especially for 30 quid. I can run SolidWorks on my netbook (GMA 3150?) and it's alright, just a little laggy, so the 5450 should be fine.

Cheers for the comments guys, might get this one ordered soon :)
