£300 spec me please.

Hey guys,

I'm building a PC for my Dad, he has a budget of £300.

What I do not need: OS (he has a win 7 license), peripherals (monitor speakers etc), an installation drive (have an samsung SSD), a GFX card (I have a AMD 3000 series which I can chuck in if needs be).

It is for general usage, it doesn't need to be able to play games, it will need onboard sound (which I believe most mobos come with nowadays) or a cheap sound card.

An i3 would be nice and a storage drive of at least 1tb if at all possible (if the budget does not allow for a storage drive I do have a spare 160gb sata drive if needs be). It also needs a DVDRW.

the sort of thing they'll put in it will be fine for the low end performance your currently asking of it.

would be worth updating the psu if you decided to up the graphics card etc.

Should be able to handle the type of system your putting together but when adding power hungry GPU thats when it could struggle.
