I'm building a PC for my dad for his xmas pressie from my mum. budget is 300 with me putting in some from me also and cant go over this.
mouse, KB, monitor, DVD, HD are all covered already from old stuff.
would like to give him SSD boot drive ~60gb size. He would like more of an htpc box such as silverstone milo ml03 or something of that ilk. quiet and low power consumption are other things that he would like. He will occasionally game but unlikely anything too taxing, perhaps FSX would be his most taxing use, but his monitor is so old that I don't think anything will be running at high settings (I cant remember what, but my old one from the dawn of LCD monitors)
I had wondered about something like an AMD APU with A8 7600, but I am very out of date on all modern gear and would value suggestions
