£300 spec mobo, cpu and ram

i have a full system including gpu and psu, etc, my motherboard died, so im deciding to upgrade the cpu and ram as well, depends on my options.

currently e6600 (2.4ghz dual core) and 4gb of ddr2 (4 x 1gb)

i think this is the best cpu to go for http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-253-AM.

or if anyone else wants to spec a different cpu thats fine. i wont be overclocking ever.

so if everyone agrees thats the best cpu for my budgets £300 max, then i just need a decent mobo and ram, if not just spec me a diff cpu as well, just remember it will stay at stock.

needs to have a minimum of 5 sata ports and a minimum of 4 usb ports. i dont need usb 3.0. i dont need onboard graphics card or onboard sound. if the mobo comes with that then its fine but not needed.

thanks a lot, if the budget was to be upped to £350, would you rather up the cpu or change the mobo or both?

i will be ordering tomorrow so any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks for your help, just ordered the above, but i went for the OEM cpu and the aksa venom. it was a difference of about £15 overall for a much better cooler. i wont be overclocking to start with, the 4 cores and 3.3ghz should give me a large enough boost over my e6600, but i may decide to in a couple of months time.

i have also ordered 8gb of ram instad of just 4gb, i figured it was an extra £25 and i know i wont need to upgrade for at least 2 years now.

i did a bit of looking about the whole sata issue, is there an eta on when mobo's will start being replaced? i know it will be a pain having to re-build the system again, but one im willing to do so for a fixed and newer revision of the mobo.

delivery should hopefully be friday, looking forward to see how zippy this new cpu will be. thanks again. do you have any tips? i have built several computers but ive been out of the loop for about 2 years now.

Parts usually only fit one way " unless you use stupid amounts of force"

its like a 5 year olds jigsaw, easy and shouldnt be any different then when you built your e6600

Tip: build it outside your case on the mobo box - you will probably have to getg behind the mobo to put the retention plate on, so this will be the easiest way for you.

Have fun, take breaks and keep hydrated ( not anywhere near your parts tho hehe )

Also the oem is 20 quid cheaper making after market cooling an easy option. I also just had to go for 8gb of ram, rude not to at these prices
