Possibly the most 'macho' movie i have ever seen. Lots of half-naked six-packed men and brutal merciless (very) graphic killing.

At first it's a bit 'erm, wtf..?'. My first impression was "Ok, what the hell is this OTT tripe?", but when the film gets into full-swing it's actually pretty good... if chiseled men cutting bits off other men does it for you.

one thing i didn't like, was how suddenly the odds turned against them; for the majority of the movie they are romping through the enemies slaughtering everyone they come across as though they are practically immortal, then in the blink of an eye they're suddenly all surrounded and killed. :/

They were surrounded and the enemy took the higher ground with ranged weapons. That's why.

I too loved it. So many cool moments in one film.
yes i know why it happened, i'm just saying it all happened too quickly. going from completely unstoppable for most of movie too suddenly "oh ****".

Hot gates?! What the hell, Hollywood? It's called Thermopyale. Fools! You have ripped my country's history countless times. Why instead of focusing on Alexander's achievments, the only real issue was weather he was gay or not. And Xerex wasn't a crossdressing giant

Anyway, this is like making a 9/11 film with the terrorist in the plane played by the devil himself, 300 is a super-action stupid film.
it's called 'fiction'.

it's 2 hours of people cutting bits off other people. who cares about character development? :p

take it for what it is, and it's highly enjoyable. sounds to me like you were expecting too much (especially considering it's a movie based on a comicbook/'graphic novel').

The oracle? Xerxes' hareem? The Sparta Queen?
hm, well the oracle and the queen are only 2, so hardly 'lots'. though tbh, i'd actually completely forgotten the hareem part. but then that's probably because i was psychologically trying to block out the memory of that hunchback freak getting his end away. :o

It's my fault that Frank Miller decided that historical facts had no importance when telling the story about one of the most important battles in world history?

Frank Millers a great story teller, heck I already said I loved Sin City but its unforgiveable to put forward such a twisted version of events.
i don't get why so many people in this thread are failing to understand the concept of 'fiction'. the story is -not- supposed an unbiased account of events, it's intentionally inacurate as it's told from the perspective of the spartans, and how they would have told their own people. hence some of the persians looking like monsters etc.

Fiction

Any story that is the product of imagination rather than a documentation of fact. characters and events in such narratives may be based in real life but their ultimate form and configuration is a creation of the author.

Ah I see what you're 'trying' to say and failing.
ok, you posted your opinion of the movie which is fine, but since then your posts have just been pointless trolling. i could understand if you were at least debating about the movie, but you're not even trying - you're just blatantly trolling the thread and making insulting posts.

great way to get your point accross.
