£300 to upgrade cpu or gpu

I have 1700 ryzen and 1070 GTX. I have £300 to upgrade one of the components. I didn't think I could get much of a gpu upgrade with that budget. Especially considering I have a G-sync monitor, and would need to stay with Nvidia if I want to keep using it.

I was look at the 3700x what do you guy think? I thought I could stick the old 1700 on eBay and recoup a little something.

Gaming. I have another computer for work. I play csgo and single player games for example The Witcher 3 . I liked the idea of getting a significant increase in single core performance.

Personally I'd go the route of CPU upgrade to ryzen 3000 series, just make sure you update BIOS... Ryzen 3700x would be a big step up, you'll get the gains your after.

How much RAM do you have in your system?

16GB Ripjaw Hynix ram cjr 3200 CL16. I had noticed how much cheaper ram is at the moment.

Yeah RAM prices are actually decent for a change, atleast you have enough RAM for gaming so the £300 can be spent mainly on CPU
