Well all i can say is i am very dis with the logi's 5400s and x-fi fatality no matter what i do the sound is nowhere near as good as my old creative scard and philips 2.1 speaker system.

all the music just seems to fade at certain parts no matter what i play and that bloody mode select at the begining is a pain, so off goes the logi and x-fi and on goes my old system.

Gonna buy the either the

Altec Lansing MX5021 2.1 Speaker System Black (SP-011-AL)
or
Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speakers (White) - Retail (SP-001-AE)

what do you guys reckon ?

Well, I got the Aego's last week from OCUK when they had a £10 off.

They replaced a pair of cheapies, and I have to say, the difference is night and day.

Really good 2.1 system. Loads of bass. The Sub has 3 bass settings. I use it on the lowest and ther is still loads!

I can't comment on the Altecs, but the AE's are brilliant for the money.

The music fades? Sounds like either something is faulty or you don't have them setup right. An X-Fi should sound at least as good as your old creative soundcard, if not better. Dunno how those speakers compare though since I've never used either.

Also make sure you have the CMSS mode in CMSS 3D set to stereo surround and the front/rear balance set to 0. That'll make stereo music use all your speakers.

Btw if you bought the new stuff online, there is the possibility of returning it if you're not satisfied using the distance selling regulations, and if you've had them for no more than 7 working days.
