£300 upgrade

Posting for my son built him a machine at xmas spec below

He has a money saved and wondering what to put in it to increase gaming performance, plays games like BF3 or whatever the latest is minecraft etc.

Just looking for smoother gaming and higher speeds so would it be another graphics card / CPU / More Memory or any other suggestions?

I just got one of these: "Asus Radeon R9 280X DirectCUII TOP 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card" and it's really good, it'd improve performance a lot and his PC supports it just fine.

Maybe you could get an SSD either this for high performance or this for a bit cheaper, either would perform much better than a standard hard drive.

With the first SSD you could get this CPU with better performance than the current one

You could also get this with the latter of the two SSDs for about £300

All of these upgrades would improve the PC considerably, you could get the CPU and the graphics card, too, for less than £300
