me and my mates little brother decided to swop motherboards.

My sli premium for his DFI Ultra. He was having a nightmate cooling his 3000+, temps of over 60 for hours sometimes. We removed motherboards and my Big T no probs. His 3000+ was stuck REALLY hard onto his Vapochill micro Aircooled thing.

After messing for hours and stupid stuff we got my processor working in both boards and eventually seperated his from his heatsink, but it died in the process, as it wouldnt boot......

we thought....

few hours later as we sadly re-assembled the PCs, he agreed to buy my processor off me for 75 quid so he wouldnt be without a processor, AND my mate threw in his old Socket A watercooling kit in exchange for my big Tyhpoon.

While he was finishing up his little bros case i tried the zombie chip we thought was dead and it lived!!!!

i was blown away and was my friend, the heatsink was only balanced on so we attached the clip, bu then as we reseated it, a pin broke and a fewe others got bent. The zombie chip was propper dead :( .

so now ive got 75 quid to replace my processor (939 on a DFI)

ive shopped about and seen 3700+ for 75-80 which would give me a sweet multiplier, but i was thinking of maybe getting a 3800X2 for 140.

Its a bit of a nightmare because i really wanted to put my wonder chip in the DFI board (the whole point of the switch), but i felt bad for his little brother (hes 18 hes not tiny!) especially as he has a WoW addiction and my mate couldnt put up with his withdrawal symptoms.

im gutted becuase i had been looking forward to the crippled cache 3600+ and getting a sick overclock, cant even find a second hand 3000+ on popular auction sites to tide me over :(

the moral of the story, if something dies at 1:00AM , then starts working at 4:00AM, dont touch it again till the next day when your less tired and clumsy!!
