I have been given 3000 Microsoft points by Microsoft.

I have been looking around the games for windows live marketplace. The selection of games is pretty small and the prices are not great. Those points work out at roughly equivalent to £25 to spend.

Any advice on what I should buy? Do they have much in the way of sales? Should I hold onto the points?

If you like rts, Age of Empires Online might be worth a look. I have paid £40 so far for the 3 civilisations and a few extras. The units & quests are varied and the rpg elements are fun, such as equipping your troops with gear found in looted chests. The online aspect is crap, as few will help in co-op and there are plenty of gold sellers (who can be ignored).

Anyone know any games on the marketplace that will activate on Steam?

None as they do not sell any games which have Steamworks apart from DOW2+ Chaos Rising. Just save your points for the Batman Arkham City DLC which is most likely 560 MS Points x 3 @ launch or buy some more points & buy Batman Arkham City as MS usually have slightly cheaper prices than Steam anyway.

Still got ALL these points. Not spotted anything worth spending them on.

Still in shock at Crysis2 being £59.99 on Marketplace at the moment.

Trails HD is a good crack
also if you have a kinect then 'Fruit Ninja'

Battle Field 1942 is a very good addictive run and gun, especially when drunk.

Are they transferrable? If it was me I'd find someone to trade the points for some Steam games :D

Is it worth £14.99 now?

Well I would not pay £14.99 cash for an old game, but I was given some points so it did not matter to me. But it is a great game, way better then the xbox version. Has the extra brumack or whatever they are called missions. Still active online. It is a hefty price though but so is everything on windows live

OK - just got Flight Simulator X which is on sale this week for £9.99. That cost 1200 points leaving me with 1800.

I went to buy Gears of War but it came to 1840 points. The smallest number of points you can buy is 500 (which would leave me with 460 afterwards) Is there anyway to pay with points and cash? Can you transfer points to someone else? I just really don't want to be stuck with points I can't use.
