£3000 spec for a Rig

i would change out that asrock board for the asus maximus 4 or the gigabyte sniper 2.
great extras and fantastic for overclocking

Definitely the Asus.

Used to dislike the Asus range, but I have literally no gripes with the feature on the rapage board. They'v thought evrything through!

I tried to keep it all black though :( Unless you wanna go black and red? :D

I know EVGA let you take off the casing but when specing that I didn't want to have to go through loads of web pages trying to find a reference design card.

Edit: I thought we were going with 6870 Tri-Fire, EVGA don't do AMD :(

All EVGA's are reference bar a few :)

I think 580 SLI would be a better option :)

Then again, a single 7970 would be better

if I went as you say with air first then get the build up and running and get used to it and start over clocking and then see if I need cooling then that could work?
have question about placement of the Rids, see a few people put one on the bottom now to me that sound a little odd as the air then is either being pulled or pushed over the rad then onto the desk , seems as if that would restrict the air flow? Or am I missing the point or set up.
would a good set up be to try and create a negative pressure in the centre of the machine so any heat produced there is forced out of the machine over the rads to cool the rads but also to remove heat from within, then one intake fan to suck fresh air from surrounding room to max air flow of warmer air.
Also did have a look at "cammy5477" set up and that did seem a very easy and simple set up, what are your thoughts.
With fluids for the WC side do you have any thoughts on coolants such as Glycol its used in the diving industry in there chiller system that they use , same principle as its used here to remove excess heat any thoughts ?
Thanks for your help once again

Rads just need airflow through them. As long as it gets that, it's fine.

Distilled water is fine. Don't bother with Glycol
