3060, mining focused? Harder to get?

So I'm lead to believe the 3060 will have 12 gb of VRAM, more VRAM than the higher end cards of the 30xx series, why? It doesn't make much sense to me gaming wise. I am looking forward to seeing how it stacks up against my 1070ti, finding a 3060ti out in the wild for RRP is practically in possible..

Just wondering if the 3060 is a mining focused card and will they be even harder to get hold of?

I've more of the opinion we'll see the current 3060ti/3070/3080 disappear and replace with higher VRAM iterations.

Aslong as cards become more available, its a terrible time to try and upgrade right now

I don't think we will see the 3060ti disappear this gen, the 3070 and 3080 will for sure be getting the ti treatment with higher VRAM though.
