I've an 8600g, 32gb ddr5, 3060ti founders and a Corsair 1000w PSU. 1440p gaming.

Is the 5060ti 16gb a good upgrade? Playing Borderlands 4 last night was a bit lack lustre.
Maybe the 8gb was the issue. Thinking the 5060ti or a 6800 Radeon.

Any other suggestions? £400 is my limit.

Thanks in advance.

GPU requirements for that game seem to be very high from this performance review.

£400 is an annoying budget because you're just short of a 9070 or 5070.

Yikes, that's some horrible performance.

IMO save for the 9070, I'd be disappointed spending 9060XT or 5060Ti money and only getting 25fps in return. Mind you, 40fps on the 9070 isn't stellar either!

That does appear to be on max settings, so at least there's scope to dial things down a bit.

I do agree though, I recently upgraded from my 3060Ti and even after skipping a generation, a 5060Ti didn't seem like a compelling upgrade at all; nothing like when I went from a 1060 to a 3060Ti which was a decent improvement. I was fortunate to have the budget to go for a 5080 this time but otherwise I'd have been looking at going for a 9070.

I’d be saving up for a 9070. If you must stick to £400 I’d hold out for a RTX 3090/4070 Ti or 6950xt… you may get lucky with a 7900 Xt at £400.. they’re the caliber of cards I’d be looking at

CPU bottleneck though..

Another shout to the 9070.. I did this too from a 3060Ti, basically double the performance at 20w more power usage than the Ti :)

A few months back I went from a 3060ti to a 4070 and its been great so a 9070/9070XT/5070 will be even better.

Not defending them but if you run high or very high instead of badass the performance is substantially higher without really looking much worse.
Saying that I'd still opt for a 9070 you can still bring it up to 100fps with fsr and high settings.

That makes more sense if it's just a case of ultra settings being ultra settings.

I had seen on a couple of other UE5 games that the settings didn't make much difference to performance, but I shouldn't have assumed in this case.
