3070FE to 7900xt

Hey Guys,

First post - I have been reading through the forums to try and figure out if what I am looking to do is a good idea or plain stupid!

I have a 3070 FE and have been wanting to upgrade and I though about the 7900xt. I have a 1440p 170hz Monitor and would like to make the most of it, and as I thought the 3070 is starting to struggle unless I use the likes of DLSS etc.

Is the 7900xt overkill or just stupid, thanks in advance.

If you don't like DLSS/FSR etc then the card is good. It's the price that sucks. Should be £499. £599 at a stretch.

As mentioned, you get loads of vram too and we know how important that is these days

Thanks for the advice, out of curiosity, this whole VRAM situation is it just one big troll or is it a genuine factor? I keep seeing people talking about the extra vram but then doing smileys like its just a joke , but is it actually important or not? This is coming from someone who isnt too clued up on it. Thanks again.

I went ahead and made the change! I ended up getting £410 for my 3070 so the upgrade wasn't too hard on the wallet. I love the 7900xt, thanks for the advice!
