Hey all

Just played an hour or two of Quake 2 RTX to make sure my loop is keeping my gpu and VRMs cool still

Max values I see are:

GPU Temp 49.0c
GPU Hot spot 64.2
Memory junction 66.0c

Memory and GPU look excellent.

Hotspot seems to be 15.2c delta. I hear that 10c is good (and is what I see at desktop once things have got to temp). Is 15 still in spec and ok under load? All temps are low so not really concerned.

I'll be draining my loop in a few months and wondering if I should redo the thermal paste.

Thoughts?

That's fine as far as I know. I'll double check mine later but I think it's similar. There will naturally be some variance, not everyone's card will have a 10C delta and I think it would only be a sign of a problem if it were something like 30 or 40C.

Under water all your temps are much lower than with typical air cooling and that makes it even less of a problem.

I get a 104C memory junction temp in Quake 2 RTX on my 3080 FE and that game is known for pushing temps particularly high which might be why you see a slightly bigger delta.

It's mental that water knocks 30-40c off the memory. I guess it's a sign that the stock cooler and pads wasn't doing a great job in the first place.

Yes although I'm not sure my 3080 is the best sample. The high memory temperatures are well known but still within safe limits according to Nvidia, it's far from ideal though.

I replaced stock pads on 3080 Fe and it knocked vram temps from around 100c to around 86 -88c when fully stressed

I was worried the delta would worsen over time with pump out and was suggested to use syy157 thermal paste as it's thicker less prone to pump out and now well over a year delta still remains at 10-11c

did you get get to clock your memory much higher because of your block?
